Credit outreach prog conducted

As part of the 75-week long observance of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM), a Credit Outreach cum Financial Literacy Awareness Programme was organised at the auditorium of Library and Information Centre, Kakching on Wednesday.
The programme was organised by State Bank of India (SBI), Kakching Branch in association with Kakching branch offices of Punjab National Bank (PNB), UCO Bank, Indian Bank, Manipur Rural Bank, Manipur State Co-operative Bank, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank and SBI Sugnu Branch.
Kakching district deputy commissioner Somorjit Salam attended as chief guest, while SBI Kakching Branch manager Thangkhenpau Guite, Indian Bank Kakching Branch manager Y Chittaranjan, PNB Kakching branch manager M Bhagat Singh were among the presidium members.
During the programme, the banks distributed loan sanction letters to their respective beneficiaries, while bank staffers working to deliver various social security schemes were encouraged.
In his speech, DC Somorjit stressed that freedom not only concerns political freedom, but also financial and social freedom.
Of all these, financial freedom is most important for the people and as such, they should go together with banks to achieve the same.
