Bomb recovered near Sani Mandir

Imphal, September 07 2021: Amidst tight security, a hand grenade was recovered from near Sani Mandir located at Thangal Bazar which is under the jurisdiction of City police station on Tuesday.

The grenade was found near a transformer installed in front of RSRS Agencies (shop), around 3.30 pm.

A bouquet of flowers was also found near the bomb.

The identity of the miscreants and the reason for planting the bomb are yet to be known till the time of filing this report.

Later, a team of City police successfully retrieved the bomb.

Upon hearing report of the bomb, all the nearby shops were closed and people were prevented from moving in the area.

Mention may be made here that the area is under surveillance with installation CCTV cameras at several points and there is deployment of security round the clock.
