MDA helps stranded truck drivers

Manipur Driver' Association (MDA) provided rice, cooking oil, lentils and drinking water to drivers of trucks currently stranded at Keithelmanbi due to the economic blockade called by ANSAM against internet ban and non-declaration of the DPC for recruitment of assistant professors.
A team of MDA led by president Saikhom Babudhon, secretary Sanjay Kshetrimayum and advisor Ganga Singh visited Keithelmanbi along NH-37 road and handed over the essential items to the stranded drivers.
According to Sanjay Kshetrimayum, truck drivers from outside are bringing essential items for people of the state as Meetei drivers have problem in plying along national highways due to the ongoing conflict.
After unloading goods in Imphal, these drivers from outside remain stuck at Keithelmanbi since the past seven days due to total shutdown and economic blockade and faced innumerable suffering, he said and appealed government to make an arrangement for return of the stranded drivers to their respective states.
