Tamenglong observes Gandhi Jayanti

Tamenglong, October 03 2024: The observance of Gandhi Jayanti was marked by conclusion of the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign, which saw widespread participation across various villages in Tamenglong district.

The observance, emphasising on importance of cleanliness and sanitation, and monitored by Tamenglong SDO D Meidinbui had residents of various wards in Tamenglong town showcasing commitment to cleanliness ranging from schools to markets places.

The community came together to honour Mahatma Gandhi's legacy of cleanliness and social responsibility.

The Swachhata Hi Seva campaign, which began on September 17, was spearheaded by Autonomous District Council, Tamenglong CEO Kachamthai Gangmei.

Under the initiative, a series of engaging competitions were organised by the Public Health Engineering.

Activities included marathon face, 'Waste to Art' contest, and lake cleaning drive, all aimed at promoting environmental awareness and community participation.
