Bishnupur, February 03 2025:
Joining the growing choruses denouncing arrest of village volunteers, Laishram Nando Singh, who is chairman of Kishan Congress of the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, has appealed to the state government to immediately stop arresting these volunteers who are working to save Manipur, end community infighting, and restore peace and tranquillity in the strife-torn state.
Addressing media persons at his Awangjiri residence on Monday regarding the arrest of village volunteers from Moidangpok village deployed for duty in Keithelmanbi area, Nando criticised the state government for hounding the village volunteers instead of devising strategies to end the ongoing crisis in the state, while questioning whether arrest of the village volunteers would resolve the issue.
He also decried the government's silence, while the people, including women, are enduring sleepless nights defending the land, and urged the government to understand the struggles of the mothers in the foothills of Konthoujam constituency.
Nando further called for the immediate release of the three village volunteers arrested by police from Moidangpok.
