Japan-bound nurses, paramedics flagged off

The first batch of nurses and paramedics for internship in Japan under Shija Hospitals and Research Institute's Technical Intern Training Programme was flagged off from Shija complex on Tuesday.
Health services director Dr K Rajo, ARMS Incorporation - H&A India Private Limited sales head Nagatoshi Sibata, ARMS Inc - H&A India Pvt Ltd healthcare trainer Arisha Siranita and Shija chairman cum managing director Dr Palin Khundongbam attended the flag off ceremony as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Palin informed that the institute has been planning to conduct the internship programme for the last three years but got delayed due to Covid-19 pandemic.
Earlier, there was plan to send 13 nurses but only four internees including three women paramedics are participating in the first batch.
He also expressed confidence that the internship programme will boost the.
healthcare service in the state and also informed that the institute will, introduce Japanese Language and culture course apart from the nursing and paramedic courses.
Three students of Shija Paramedics Research Academy and one of College of Nursing, medical directorate Imphal will leave for Japan on Wednesday.
They will first attend a three - month course on Japanese Language, Japanese lifestyles orientation and business etiquette under ARMS Inc before joining the internship.
