Union extends assistance to ailing drivers

Imphal, December 31 2021: All Manipur Road Transport Drivers'& Motor Workers' Union (AMRTDMWU) has extended financial assistance to injured and ailing drivers who are now unable to deliver their service.

A team of AMRTDMWU visited houses of injured and ailing drivers on Thursday and handed over the financial assistance.

The Union team led by general secretary Maimom Anil Meitei visited Kwakta and handed over financial assistance to driver Md Musiyakim, whose both eyes have been injured, and Md Tomba, who is suffering from BP stroke.

The team also handed over financial assistance to driver Abdul Karim, who is unable to resume service due to poor health condition.

During the visit, Anil Meitei announced that the union will provide monthly pension to drivers Md Tomba and Abdul Karim.

Union vice president Thoudam Nonganjao also took part'in the visit.
