Saroj Nalini Khomdram's memoir launched

Saroj Nalini Khomdram's latest book, "Ningshing Lakanungdagi", was officially launched on Sunday at the Deputy Speaker Hall, Constitution Club, New Delhi.
The event celebrated Manipuri literature and paid homage to the enduring spirit of Manipur.
The ceremony was attended by senior lawyer of the Supreme Court and former minister of state for external affairs and culture, Meenakashi Lekhi as the chief guest.
Lok Sabha MP Dr Angomcha Bimol Akoijam, and National Commission for Scheduled Tribes member Dr Asha Lakra also attended the event as president and guest of honour respectively.
A performance of Basanta Raas by Vivian Rajahamsan and Karishma Wahengbam marked the beginning of the event.
Published by the Library of Manipur, "Ningshing Lakanungdagi" is a collection of 11 deeply personal memoirs that provide a glimpse into life in Manipur through the eyes of a resilient woman.
The book reflects the indomitable spirit of the author, touching upon themes of love, struggle, and perseverance.
The chapters explore a variety of experiences, including her time in relief camps, encounters with conflict and displacement, and memories of love and loss.
The author dedicated the book to those who have lost their lives during the ongoing conflict in Manipur since May 3, 2023.Born on December 29, 1949, in Imphal, Saroj Nalini Khomdram has also been a social worker, nurturing young girls of diverse backgrounds under one roof in harmony.
Her passion for Manipuri literature led to the establishment of the Library of Manipur, where she has tirelessly worked to make literary treasures accessible to younger generations.
