Education minister launches digital learning facility

Imphal, December 29 2021:
Education minister S Rajen Singh on Wednesday launched University & Higher Education Digital Support Scheme (UHEDSS).
The launch function was organised by Department of University & Higher Education, Manipur.
Speaking at the function held at DM College of Teacher Education, Rajen informed that the education sector has become one of the most improved sectors amongst others in the state; The government has endeavoured to improve education sector on priority basis.
Departmental funds have also been utilised transparently on priority basis, he added.
He said that the departmental officials and staff are also working as a combined team to reform and improve the education sector.
The digital format of teaching is also an advanced mode of teaching and it has been introduced with the objective to compete with the most advanced learning centres.
Rajen further said that state's colleges are still not excelling in NAAC scoring, adding that there have been sensitisation and awareness programmes conducted in colleges (government and aided) of the state regarding NAAC score.
He hoped that this campaign will help to a great extent.
Minister Rajen also maintained that'the teachers should stop approaching local MLAs and higher authorities for new transfer and posting.
He opined that there is need for working together in cooperation and understanding.
Process to recruit required college teachers to fill the vacant posts is under process, he informed.
Speaking on the occasion, chief secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar informed that colleges of the state will be facilitated with full digital learning facility by the month of June, next year.
M Harekrishna, commissioner Hr & Tech Education, Dr Rangitabali Waikhom, director, also attended the launch function.
