L Joychandra receives 'Babure Taramani Memorial National Award'

Imphal, November 28 2024: Manipuri Literary and Cultural Forum, Tripura presented the "Babure Taramani Memorial National Award" for the year 2024 to renowned critic and transl ator Longjam Joychandra on Wednesday.

The award was presented in an event held at Nalgoria Mandap, Tripura organised by the Manipuri Literary and Cultural Forum, Tripura.

The award ceremony was attended by Pukhrambam Bilas, director of JNM Dance Academy as chief guest, the forum president, N Bira Singha as president and AC Netrajit, Sahitya Academy New Delhi, Manipuri Language Advisory board member and L Birmangal, president of Tripura Manipuri Sahitya Parishad as guests of honour.

The award includes a cash prize of Rs 10,000, citation and a traditional shawl.

L Joychandra expressed extreme gratitude to the Forum for presenting the prestigious award to him and donated the cash prize to Takhel Leima Tengbang Lup of Tripura, which is a one of the women organisations in Tripura.

Later, Pukhrambam Bilash and Sahitya Academy board member, AC Netrajit were also honoured with special gift by Takhel Leima Tengbang Lup.
