Noney, June 25 2022: Company Operating Base Kotlein of Noney Battalion under 22 Sector Assam Rifles and Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) organised an awareness programme on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) at T Khonom village on the occasion of International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

The event was organised in collaboration with state police, CSOs, village chairman and local youth clubs with an aim to spread awareness on ill effects of drugs in the society and local youth.

During the event a total of 62 local youths including parents took the solemn oath to fight against drug abuse and get involved in nation building activities.

They were also guided and encouraged for enrolling into Armed Forces for a bright future.

The villagers expressed deep gratitude to the Assam Rifles for organising such awareness programme and appreciated the efforts and commitment of Assam Rifles in making Manipur a drug free state.

Adequate COVID-19 precautions were followed during the event.
