AR conducts winter Camp for Tamenglong kids

A six-day 'Winter Camp', flagged off on December 16 at the Assam Rifles Battalion Headquarters in Tamenglong, concluded with a captivating closing ceremony on Saturday in the presence of students, parents, and civil dignitaries, including representatives from various civil society organisations.
The closing ceremony featured displays by the Assam Rifles Pipe Band and Jazz Band, alongside impressive presentations by the students, followed by felicitation of the participants.
The Winter Camp was designed to provide a comprehensive developmental experience for young students through a combination of educational, recreational, and adventure activities.
A total of 53 children from Tamenglong district participated in the camp, engaging in a variety of activities such as trekking, tent pitching, fun runs, picnics, yoga sessions, a tree plantation drive, and several adventure-based games and competitions.
Additionally, the children were taken on guided visits to Tharon Caves, Khongsang Railway Station, and the Barak River, enriching their understanding of local landmarks.
Visits to the police station, bank, and fire station were also organised to enhance the students' practical awareness.
The Winter Camp concluded withelosing remarks delivered by the officiating commandant of the Assam Rifles.
