PIMMSAA distributes loom to relief camps

Imphal, February 22 2024:
Pan India Manipuri Meitei Scientists and Academicians Association (PIMMSAA), in continuation of their 'Sustainable Livelihood Mission (SLM)' to the internally displaced persons, distributed traditional looms to different relief camps.
According to a statement, the association had provided one loom each to Sajiwa and Sawombung relief camps and two to Nongada relief camp along with yarns and other materials.
Earlier, the association had provided over 10 looms and other materials to different relief camps located at Urup, Keirak, Hiyangthang, Lamding and Kakching Khunnou, from which displaced people had started production and sale already.
Apart from the mission, the association had also distributed 700 blankets, 1500 school bags, 1500 stationery sets, 1000 pairs of shoes, five truckloads of food items, 100 kg of crochet yarn, 1000 thermal wears and other relief materials as well to different relief camps.
They had also provided financial assistance to children of displaced families, who are studying in different cities such as Delhi, Bangalore and Chhattisgarh among others, the statement said.
