AR organises security meets

Imphal, October 18 2021: Chassad and Som-sai Battalions of IGAR (S) conducted security meets at Phaikoh, Kamtong and Poi villages in Kamjong and Ukhrul districts in between October 14 and 18 .

According to PRO IGAR (S), the participants comprising village headmen, village authorities and residents of Phaikoh, Humeine Thana, Kangpat Centre, Kangpat Khunou, Kangpat Khullen, Skipe and Poi villages were sensitised and updated on prevalent security situation and measures being taken by Assam Rifles in maintaining peace and tranquility in these areas.

Measures required to be undertaken by locals in synergy with Assam Rifles for maintaining a strict vigil against illegal activities, particularly extortion and smuggling were also discussed, it added.

On the other hand, Chura-chandpur Battalion of IGAR (S) organised a security meet of village chiefs /councils at Hengkot village in Churachandpur district oh Monday to build synergy with locals and sensitise them on the prevalent security situation and various measures being taken by Assam Rifles in maintaining the peace and tranquility in the area.

Altogether 22 village chiefs/council members of Hengkot village and adjoining villages attended the meeting, the PRO added in another release.
