Sit-in staged against 'unfair' monetary demand

Kakching Khunou College teaching and non-teaching staff on Thursday staged sit-in protest at the college's gate against exorbitant monetary demand and to demand disturbance-free education sector.
Speaking on the sidelines of the protest organised by Kakching Khunou College Employees' Welfare Association, secretary Dr Longjam Ibochoubi expressed serious concern that outrageous monetary demand served to the college by different organisations in recent times has disrupted the academic atmosphere as teaching, non-teaching staff and principal could not focus on their duty.
Pointing out that both teaching and non-teaching staffers of the college have been providing donations to relief camps and to organisations in their best capacity, he reiterated the appeal to all concerned not to target educational institutions.
