45 held for power theft, 31 disconnected

Imphal, February 18 2025: Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL) officials conducted raids in different areas and pulled up 45 people on the charge of power theft and other malpractices on Tuesday.

In a release, MSPDCL general manager (commercial) Ng Kirankumar said that 12 persons from areas under Sagolmang; 10 from Lamlai; five from Kangla Sangoms-hang; four from Pherzawl; three from Lamlong-I; two each from Sugnu, Thoubal and Yairipok; and one person each from Takyel, Kongba, Kakching Tamenglong and Kumbi sub-divisions were apprehended for power theft.

Moreover, 31 consumers were disconnected for failure to clear their outstanding electricity bill, he added.
