Rally calls for new Govt, end to PR

Imphal, February 17 2025: Moidangpok Apunba Meira Paibi and local clubs organised a torch rally on Sunday evening to demand immediate solution to the present political crisis, while calling for formation of a new government by electing a consensus leader and withdrawal of President's Rule in the state.

A woman participant of the rally told media persons, on condition of anonymity, that people are opposing the resignation of chief minister at such a crucial juncture.

While expressing resentment that the CM's resignation has led to the present political crisis, she Said that elected leaders must shoulder responsibility as representatives of the people and work collectively for revocation of the President's Rule by forming a new government.

Strongly condemning arrest of village volunteers by registering irrelevant cases against them, she demanded immediate release of all the arrested village volunteers without any condition.
