Imphal, November 16 2021: A joint team of NAB and Thoubal district police arrested a 36-year-old man along with drugs from Waithou area in Thoubal district on Monday.

The arrested man has been identified as Thangchinlian, son of Khanthang of Phaicham Veng, Moreh.

The joint team seized 625 grams of heroin from his possession.

Police source said that the joint team intercepted a Bolero (AS 12 M-6578) during frisking operation at Waithou area following intelligence report of transporting drugs along the highway.

Upon checking, the heroin was found in 50 soap cases.

During questioning, Thangchinlian disclosed that the drugs were smuggled from Myanmar and he was supposed to hand it over to a man from Thoubal.
