Ngangkhalawai incident resolved by signing MoU

Zeliangrong Students' Union Manipur (ZSUM) and Federation of Civil Societies Organisations (FOCS) have resolved the January 29 Ngangkhalawai incident pertaining to miscreants abducting and robbing two Naga individuals, by signing a Memorandum of Understanding on Tuesday.
Informing this in a joint statement, the two organisations said that the unfortunate incident has been resolved and urged the people to refrain from indulging in such acts, which might threaten bond of brotherhood between the two communities.
The two organisations also resolved to put further efforts to uphold the fraternity and peaceful co-existence among one another.
Mention may be made that Giangjilung Rongmei and Jeanguanglung Malangmei were abducted at gunpoint from Moirang Oil Pump by about six unidentified armed miscreants.
Blindfolded and taken to an undisclosed location, they were subjected to assault and robbed of their belongings.
Fortunately, the victims claimed they were rescued by cadres of an insurgent group from Ningthoukhong Kha-Khunou and safely brought to Imphal.
