Training on ambient noise level monitoring held

Imphal, March 12 2025:
Manipur Pollution Control Board (MPCB) organised a training programme on 'ambient noise level monitoring' for district administration officials and police personnel at Hotel Classic Grande, Chingmeirong, here, on Wednesday.
Forest, Environment and Climate Change principal secretary Arun Kumar Sinha, director Dr T Brajakumar and MPCB member secretary Dr W Roshan attended the inaugural session of the training programme as dignitaries on the dais.
Addressing the event as chief guest, AK Sinha called for public cooperation in reducing noise pollution and urged to refrain from using modified exhaust pipes, excessive use of loud speakers among other activities that could increase noise level.
He expressed hope that the training programme would help raise awareness and bring down noise pollution.
Dr Roshan stressed the need to install noise level meters in every police station and to fit sound limiters in audio system.
