MUCGFA demands removal of registrar

Manipur University of Culture Guest Faculty Association (MUCGFA) demanded removal of the Manipur University of Culture registrar Laishram Radhakanta.for alleged disrespect to elderly gurus and artistes of the varsity.
In a release, MUCGFA president B Gopiraman Sharma contended that entrusting multiple posts to Radhakanta, including joint secretary (DP) .
Government of Manipur and director of Directorate of Language Planning and Implementation (DLPI), in addition to discharging duty as the registrar is creating issues in the varsity as he could not focus and accord priority to the university which in turn could degrade the varsity.
As the registrar could not be apprised on relevant issues due to frequent non-attendance, students, teachers and staffers suffer serious problems even for getting his signature.
While pointing out that 48 guest faculty members are engaged to oversee three departments in the university namely Dance, Visual Art and Music, on meagre monthly remuneration of Rs 7,000, the president disclosed that remuneration for nine months still remains pending.
He further urged authorities concerned to save the university when there is still time.
