Arms, ammos recovered in joint operation

Imphal, November 10 2024: A joint operation by 131 Bn BSF C-Coy, 46 AR, and teams of Kakching CDO under the command of the CDO unit's officer in-charge subedar S Birla Singh, in Utangpokpi hill area in Kakching district on Sunday morning resulted in recovery of several arms and ammunition.

During the operation, a yellow fertiliser bag containing various items was discovered in a secluded area.

The recovered items included a Baofeng radio set, 14 casings of.303, one of Lethod, and eight of 7.62, four 9mm rounds, a pistol holster, two smoke grenades, five tear smoke shells, a 36 HE hand grenade, two country-made 9mm pistols with a magazine, one .22 rifle (registration number 11632) with magazine and two rounds, two bulletproof jackets, one bulletproof plate, a country-made launcher (Pompi), and a pair of jungle boots.

A case regarding the recovery has been registered at Sugnu police station.
