Sanitary pad production unit opened

Imphal, April 09 2022: A production unit of BK Chanu Enterprises, which will donate sanitary pad named 'Emom' in the form of charity to unfortunate women particularly widows, has been opened at Thangmeiband Hijam Dewan Leikai on Saturday.

At the launch function, North East Woman Entrepreneurs'' Association, Manipur Chapter (NEWEAM) president and BK Chanu Enterprises proprietor Kangabam Bijaya said that the sanitary pads to be produced by it will be made available free of cost to widows, differently abled women, destitute and women living with AIDS.

The company will provide jobs to women in distress and will be given the responsibility of production, packaging and marketing of the sanitary pads, she said, adding that the company is planning to have 'Emom' distributors at every district of the state and outside.

KVIC director S Dewan; MSME Technology Centre deputy director Dr S Yoirentomba Meetei, BB Paul Special Home principal T Anita, EECO president N Amusana, social worker N Sanaba, TEA general secretary Sadique Siddiki, labour inspector K Tiken, labour officer RK Balaram and EEVFAM president Renu Takhellambam were also present at the launch function.
