Rally decries NIA charges against VVs

Bishnupur, January 09 2025: Protest agitation was held in Leimaram against the levelling of various charges by the NIA against the village volunteers who are protecting their villages and motherland against the attack carried out by the Kuki-narco terrorists, on Thursday.

The Leimaram Heinoubok Waroiching Women Joint Committee and the Leimaram Heinoubok Waroiching Loyalam Development Committee organized a public meeting at Shanti Bazar, Leimaram, where they strongly condemned the actions of the NIA .

Speaking at the event, Leimaram Heinoubok Waroiching Women Joint Committee president Ningthoujam Sumila, stated that for over 20 months, Kuki narco-terrorists have been attacking the Meetei community, as both the central and state governments have failed to take action against these terrorists, who are' attempting to destroy the Meeteis and Manipur.

In contrast, village volunteers who are defending their villages and protecting Manipur from these terrorists are being targeted and summoned by the NIA, she vented frustration, calling the same as extremely unfortunate and condemnable.

Sumila also mentioned that the NIA had levelled various charges against Leichombam Sharat s/o Leichombam Bheigyachandra of Leimaram Makha Leikai, who has been protecting his village.

She expressed that the NIA's actions, including summoning him, were unacceptable.

She warned that if the NIA and state government continue to act against the will of the people, intense forms of public agitation would be launched.
