Kpi, September 08 2024:
Categorically rejecting allegations levelled by the COCOMI that central forces are inciting the ongoing violence, Kuki Students' Organisation-general headquarter (KSO-GHQ) demanded action against Meetei armed groups.
In a press statement, KSO said lies and misinformation are being propagated by Meetei groups under the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI).
It dismissed as both absurd and baseless COCOMI's contention that central forces are shielding and aiding Kuki militants and that the Meetei population is facing coordinated proxy war waged by government of India and its military allies.
According to the KSO statement, COCOMI must stop using the word 'The peoples of Manipur' as if it represent the whole population of Manipur and further noted that the term itself is ambiguous and misleading.
The statement further said that the five-day ultimatum served to central forces by COCOMI demanding either definitive action against the Kukis or withdrawal from Manipur is testament of Meetei supremacy in the state.
The COCOMI's claim of people of Manipur having lost trust in central forces is not reflective of the general population but represents the views of Meetei community only, the KSO-GHQ said.
