Dingo assures redressal of issues faced by physiotherapists

Acknowledging the contribution of physiotherapists in the society, social welfare minister H Dingo has assured of putting his best efforts so as to addressing the issues faced by physiotherapists in the state.
Attending the World Physical Therapy Day observance organised by All Manipur Physiotherapists' Association (AMPA) held at Hotel Imphal, North AOC, here, on Thursday, Dingo said that physiotherapists play an important role in the treatment of stroke, arthritis and other treatment therapies.
Though some physiotherapists open their private clinics, there is the need to fill up the vacant posts in this field in the government hospitals, he said.
Dingo also assured of consulting with the chief minister over the issues faced by the physiotherapists.
In his presidential speech, AMPA president Longjam Robindro said that there is no national council for physiotherapists.
They are getting the pay scale of diploma level post.
While urging for attention from the government in this regard, he expressed confidence that the government will understand their hardships and take up necessary initiatives.
Senior and retired physiotherapists were honoured and several awards distributed during the observance function, which was also attended by Lamlai MLA Kh Ibomcha, Keirao MLA L Rameshwar, health services director Dr Kh Sasheekumar and former ICHAM president N Rajendro as guests of honour.
