Body of girl fished out from Kumbi river

Bishniupur, October 07 2024: The body of a young girl was spotted floating in the Khuga River in Kumbi area, under Kumbi police station, on Monday around 4 pm.

Locals noticed the lifeless body and immediately alerted Kumbi police station, which despatched a team along with forensic experts retrieve the body.

According to police, the body was already in advanced stage of decomposition, making identification difficult, The victim, believed to be around 10 years old, was found clad in green half pants and a dark blue t-shirt with a Superman logo.

The body has been deposited at RIMS mortuary for further examination, while an FIR has been registered at Kumbi police station for investigation.
