RIMS Firing Victims Memorial Day held

The 27th RIMS (erstwhile (RMC) Firing Victims Memorial Day was observed at the Memorial square on Friday.
Speaking at the observance organised by RIMS Firing Victims Memorial Trust, trustee L Meenabanta condemned non-completion of judicial enquiry and fake encounter killings carried out under the shadow of the draconian AFSPA.
RIMS firing incident was unfortunate, yet, there were numerous similar incidents in the state.
As such, it is high time that people join hands and raise voice for repeal of AFSPA from the state, he exhorted.
Meenabanta stressed that the observance is being organised to spread the message of love and peace in the state and to stop such unfortunate incident from occurrence in the future.
The observance was attended by RIMS director Dr A Santa as chief guest while IRCS Manipur State Branch chairman Dr Y Mohen, KIL president RK Sanahanbi and Lalambung Takhellambam Leikai Meira Paibi secretary Ningthoujam Thaibema were guests of honour.
Floral tributes were paid to photos of the victims to mark the event.
