Mega tree plantation drive conducted

Senapati, June 05 2022: Maram Battalion of Jwalamukhi sector organised mega tree plantation drive at Battalion Headquarters, Maram and all Company locations from Mao gate to Senapati Town on the occasion of World Environment Day, 2022 on Sunday.

In all, 11,000 saplings were planted by the battalion and units in their respective areas of jurisdiction.

The unit also organised a 5 km 'run in nature' around Maram Khullen village in which all officers and jawans participated.

During the mega plantation drive in Senapati, battalion commandant also took part in spreading the message of "Only One Earth', which is the theme of the observance this year.

In his address to the jawans and school students, the commandant deliberated on the importance of protecting the environment and awareness about the significance of nature and greenery.

The observance was also carried out at Assam Rifles Public School, Maram by students as well wherein various activities were carried out by teachers and students including lectures, skit and tree plantation.
