Refresher training programme for PLV held

Kakching, September 04 2024: Under the joint aegis of Manipur State Legal Services Authority and National Legal Services Authority, District Legal Services Authority, Chandel organised a one day refresher training programme for Para Legal Volunteers at the court complex of CJM, Chandel on Wednesday.

The programme was attended by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Chandel secretary Masana E Panmei as chief guest while advocate Ksh Sarankumari and Kh Jacky Lucy of DLSA, Chandel were the resource persons.

Sarankumari briefed the participants about the module of working as a Para Legal Volunteer and deliberated on the National Legal Services Authority (Free and Competent Legal Services Regulations, 2010) apart from elaborating on provisions of Manipur Compensation Scheme for Women Victims/Survivors of Sexual Assault/other crimes, 2023 .

The second'session of the programme was marked with discussion on how to improve legal aid provision via legal aid clinics and special legal aid and services camps.

The programme ended with a vote thanks delivered by DLSA, Chandel retainer lawyer.
