Imphal, October 03 2021:
National People's Party (NPP) general secretary (Organisation) Chungkham Bijoy has called upon politicians to give up the idea of buying votes, and also to the electors not to sell out their voting rights for some mere cash.
Attending a joint meeting of party's representatives from 49 polling booths of Patsoi assembly constituency held at his Kwakeithel Thounaojam Leikai residence on Sunday, Bijoy said that the state will never be able to choose the right candidate until this habit of buying and selling votes for some mere cash is stopped.
Number of candidates, who are willing to use their money power to win election, is increasing every day.
Amid such situation, people could no longer see candidates, who are sincere and committed to serve the public.
Understanding the gravity of the situation, it is time the public come out from this circle and elect the right candidate without accepting cash as it is the only way to bring about a transparent, committed and sincere government, and to root out corruption, he said.
Stating that he is eager fo initiate various projects for wellbeing of the common ers if elected by the people of Patsoi AC, Bijoy pointed out as it is impossible for the government to provide jobs to every eligible person, he will take up necessary initiatives to ensure financial assistance to skilled youth of the constituency so that they could start their own entrepreneurship journey.
