Sampoornata Abhiyan ends; PM JUGA launched

Kakching, October 02 2024: With conclusion of the Aspirational District/Block Programme Sampoornata Abhiyan, initiated by National Institution for Transforming India Aayog (NITI Aayog) at 112 Aspirational Districts and 500 Aspirational Blocks from July 4, in Chandel the state's only Aspirational District on Wednesday, Pradhan Mantri-Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan (PM-JUGA), which aims to improve socio-economic conditions of tribal community, was launched on Wednesday.

The closing function of Sampoornata Abhiyan for Chandel district, during which various developmental programmes were initiated, and launch of PM-JUGA for the district was held at multipurpose hall, Mini Secretariat Complex, Chandel in the presence of Chandel additional deputy commissioner Md Firoj Khan, Chakpikarong SDO Md Tajuddin, Khengjoi SDO Md Gayajuddin, Chandel chief medical officer Dr Mathew Joyson Monsang, Chandel district agriculture officer Ts Gladney Monsang, district level officers, staffers of various departments, Anganwadi workers/helpers, ASHAs and medical staff.

During the event, the Chandel CMO team conducted health check-up for Non Com municable Diseases (NCD) and registration of PMJAY cards as ICDS, Chandel opened a stall and raised awareness on nutritional food and District Agriculture Office, Chandel distributed crop seeds and spray machines to farmers.

The district administration also presented gifts to various departments for successful implementation of Sampoornata Abhiyan in the district.
