Imphal, December 31 2021: A man got killed after he was run over by a water tanker and another person was found dead on Friday.

According to police, a man walking near Kwakeithel Traffic point got crushed under a water tanker truck (AS26C-1370) coming from Kwakeithel side and heading towards Keishampat around 9.45 am.

The man, who died at the spot, has been identified as Konsam Tomba (55), son of late Yaima of Khagempalli Huidrom Leikai.

A suo motu case has been registered at Lamphel police station in this regard and the body handed over to family members on completion of post mortem at RIMS morgue.

Meanwhile, body of an unidentified male was found near Nupi Lai memorial complex around 8am.The deceased appears to be around 65 years old and has longish face, 5.6 feet in height, brown complexion and short hair.

A UD case has been taken up by Imphal Police Station and the body kept at RIMS morgue for post mortem examination.
