Meet confers on AI driven financial empowerment

Imphal, October 29 2024: Under the sponsorship of NM-ICPS, DST through IBITF, IIT Bhilai, the MIT Department of Computer Science & Engineering and Manipur University Department ot Computer Science jointly organised a two-day national workshop on 'Artificial Intelligence (AI) driven financial empowerment for Manipur' at MU court hall on Monday.

In a release, joint co-ordinator of the workshop Dr T Sonamani informed that the inaugural programme was attended by Manipur University vice chancellor Prof N Lokendra Singh as chief guest, MIT principal and MU School of Engineering dean Prof N Basanta Singh as president, while MU School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences dean Prof Sumitra Phanjoubam and MU Computer Science HOD Prof H Mamata Devi were the guests of honour.

IBITF, IIT Bhilai project director Prof Santosh Biswas was the main architect of the workshop even though he was not available online, while Mizoram University Computer Engineering Department Prof Ajoy Kumar Khan was the main coordinator of the workshop for the whole NE Nodal Centre, IBITF Projects, IIT Bhilai, the release continued, adding that MU Department of Computer Science Dr Th Rupachandra Singh was the other joint coordinators of the workshop.

Dr T Sonamani opined that the workshop would be instrumental in allocation of project funds for the state, adding that if the condition is favourable, IIT Bhilai is planning to allocate over 20 projects to the state.
