Cleanliness drive held in Kakching, Sora, Manipur Zoo

As part of the observance of Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2024 campaign by Kakching Municipal Council (KMC) under the theme 'Swabhav Swachhata Sanskaar Swachhata', Kakching Ward No 3 caretaker councillor Ningthoujam Memi, Kakching Wairi Khamlangba Seva Committee, Arambai Teng-gol Unit-26, Kakching Town Club and Sena Athletes Organisation, Kakching Wairi jointly conducted cleanliness drive at Kakching Wairi Khamlangba Laikol and in Kakching Ward No 3 area on Sunday.
A similar cleanliness drive held since September 22 under SHS 2024 by KMC Ward No 4 caretaker councillor Pukhrambam Sanahai Devi and United Youth Progressive Organisation (UNYPO), Kakching Chumnang Leikai in areas under the club ended on Sunday.
On the other hand, cleanliness drive under SHS-2024 was carried out at Kakching Lamkhai on Sunday by KMC caretaker councillors, sanitary workers and staff led by KMC caretaker chairperson Naorem Sanjitkumar along with Grace Cottage Cultural and Educational Development Foundation (Grace Cottage Academy), Kakching students, teaching and non-teaching staff.
Under SHS 2024, All Sora Clubs Co-ordinating Committee (ASCCOC) conducted cleanliness drive at Sora Bazar and Sora Pukhri Achouba on Sunday.
Meanwhile, in connection with SHS 2024 and upcoming 70th Wildlife Week Celebration 2024, Unique Wildlife Protection Committee Manipur and Manipur Zoological Garden organised a one day cleanliness drive cum tree plantation programme at the zoo's Iroisemba campus on Sunday.
The programme was attended by Manipur Zoological Garden director L Birmangol, Joint Coordination Committee on Wildlife & Biodiversity(JCCWB) convener Romesh Ningthoujam, environmentalist Manikanta Mutum, Wildlife Conservation Committee secretary Ksh Johnson, Tree Planters Organisation for Safe Environment, Heirok volunteers and other wildlife lovers and environmentalists.
As part of the event, tree saplings were planted across the zoological garden.
On the other hand, JCCWB volunteers freed four parrots and nine pigeons rescued by them from various places at the campus of the zoological garden.
