Imphal, November 28 2024: Several civil society organisations and village authorities including RNPO, RNCM, RNLPM, RNYOM, VCLA, Sanji village authority, Dolang village authority, Lamdangmei village authority and Longsai village authority have vehemently condemned the ongoing standoff between NSCN (IM) and ZUF at Sangji village since November 26, 2024.Despite repeated appeals to refrain from such wilful acts of violence jeopardising the lives of innocent civilians, specially during this festive season, cadres of the two parties still indulge in such activities, said a joint press release issued by the CSOs and village authorities.

They condemned in the strongest terms the indiscriminate firing in the close vicinity of the village by some cadres reportedly belonging to NSCN(IM).

Such provocative activities among the Nagas is against the public sentiment.

The attack and the counter attack must stop with immediate effect, they said.

The cadres operating in the area should evacuate their present positions at Sangji village.

The people shall resort to mass protest until the parties involved respect the interest of the people, said the joint press release.
