UPF, USU celebrate foundation day

Imphal, August 28 2021:
United People's Front (UPF) celebrated its 23rd foundation day at its office located at Keishamthong Laisom Leirak Machin on Saturday.
The celebration was attended by UPF founder president Khomdram Ratan, UCM secretary general Ngangom Deva and UPF president N Rupachandra as presidium members.
During the celebration, UPF general secretary S Subashchandra stated that it was established with an objective to make sure that every community in the state live harmoniously and become self-reliant as well as to make the people of Manipur, whose rights have been violated, get justice and foil the intention of elements inimical to unity and integrity of the state.
Urging the people to join hands in resolving outstanding besetting the state, he also exhorted all to combat Covid-19 pandemic together.
Meanwhile, Union of Social Upliftment (USU) celebrated its 39th foundation day at its office on Saturday with president Laishram Sanajaoba Meetei presiding over the function.
In a release, USU informed that gifts were presented to Olympic silver medallist Saikhom Mirabai Chanu, bronze medallist (hockey) Shanglakpam Nilakanta Sharma and participant Likmabam Sushila as a part of the celebration.
