CME on immunisation, breastfeeding held

The Indian Medical Association - South East Manipur (IMA-SEM) Branch organised a Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme focusing on routine immunisation, vaccine-preventable disease (VPD) surveillance, antenatal care (ANC) & early registration, and breastfeeding at the auditorium of Jivan Hospital, Kakching on Sunday in connection with National Immunisation Awareness Month and World Breastfeeding Month.
The CME programme, organised under the aegis of the World Health Organization (WHO) NPSP Unit, Manipur, was attended by retired Chandel chief medical officer Dr Nongmaithem Nabakeshor (Gynaecologist), and retired additional director (health) Dr Yengkhom Manichandra (Paediatrician) as presidium members.
The programme included state immunisation officer Dr Kshetrimayum Memcha Devi deliberating on routine im -munisation; WHO-NPSP Unit, Manipur surveillance medical officer Dr Daokho Apao on vaccine-preventable disease surveillance; Jivan Hospital medical superintendent Dr Nongmaithem Jivanlata on importance of antenatal care and early registration, and Dr W Joseph, a paediatrician, on the topic of breastfeeding.
It also featured an interactive session, allowing participants to engage with the resource persons.
