Imphal, July 25 2022: The proscribed RPF has condoled the demise of Shonggam (Kaka) alias Lokchingwang.

According to a statement issued by the outfit's Assistant Secretary, Publicity Bangkim, Shonggam (Kaka) alias Lokchingwang (real name Loitongbam Biradhaja) s/o Loitongbam Kharajao Meitei and Loitongbam (O) Meipakpi of Wangoo Ahal Lup Awang Leikai expired on July 23 .

He was 76 .

Shonggam (Kaka) alias Lokchingwang joined RPF in 1993 and completed basic military training with the PLA on April 15, 1996 .

Even though Shonggam (Kaka) alias Lokchingwang was over 40 when he joined the party, he always worked with perseverance, it said.

He was a brave freedom fighter who loved Manipur with all his heart and valued freedom more than anything.

Shonggam (Kaka) alias Lokchingwang who was always sincere, calm and disciplined was a strong believer in the idea of united Manipur where there is no distinction between hill people and plain people.

Condolence meetings had been held at all units, departments and stations in honour of Shonggam (Kaka) alias Lokchingwang who worked till his last breath to take the liberation movement forward, the outfit conveyed.

It also shared the grief and pain being endured by the bereaved family, friends and relatives.
