10-days workshop / production on Das Avatar concluded

Bishnupur, March 23 2025: The 10-days workshop cum production of Manipuri classical dance "Das Avatar" was concluded today at Panthoibi Thang Ta and Jagoi Sindam Shanglen Auditorium Hall.

The 10-days workshop cum production of Das Avatar which began from March 14, 2025 was organised by Panthoibi Thang Ta and Jagoi Sindam Shaglem (PTTJSS) under Guru Shishya Parampara Scheme, Ministry of Culture, Govt of India to promote and uplift Manipuri Art and Culture.

The closing programme of the workshop cum production of Das Avatar was attended by Social Worker, Th Nabadweep Singh and L Kondumba Singh as chief guest and president respectively.

During the 10 days workshop, Ng Menaka, Junior Fellow of Ministry of Culture, Govt of India and Dance Instructor of Panthoibi Thang Ta and Jagoi Sindam Shanglen as the guru of the workshop stressed and deliberated on the dance form Das Avatar, to 15 young artist of Bishnupur.

A special performance of Das Avatar was also performed by the artists during the event.

Speaking in this connection, L Rajen, principal of PTTJSS stated that the 10-days workshop cum production was organised with the aim to impart knowledge of the dance form "Das Avatar' to the young artists.

He continued that such a similar programme will also be conducted in the future to promote and preserve the various art forms of the State.
