Neikanlong village celebrates golden jubilee

Neikanlong village celebrated its Golden Jubilee on Friday.
The celebration was organised by Neikanlong Golden Jubilee Celebration Committee and attended by Thangmeiband AC MLA Khumukcham Joykisan as chief guest and Imphal West deputy commissioner Th Kirankumar as guest of honour.
Neikanlong chairman Azon Gonnmei, ex-chairman PG Dimthorei, retired IAS officers LP Gonmei and Norbert Disinang, retired MCS officer Thaikhul Rongmei and DIC Range-IV Kamei Angam Romanson also attended the celebration.
In his speech, MLA Joykisan recounted that the venue of the celebration was donated as per the suggestion oi the village elders.
He then said that the plan for construction of a community hall at the site would be translated into action if he wins the upcoming election.
Mentioning about the request of the village elders, women society and local club members for constructing a drainage system.along Thangmeiband Chingkhong-Tarung route, the MLA said that although majority of the work was delayed due to the pandemic, all works related to the drain and blacktopping of roads will be completed before Christmas.
Observing that the voting rate in Neikanlong village has always been few, Th Kirankumar appealed to all eligible voters of the village to cast their votes in the upcoming polls.
As part of the celebration, MLA Joykisan unveiled the Jubilee monolith, while Th Kirankumar released a souvenir.
