Married woman dies, family suspects foul play

Imphal, January 18 2022: A 37-year-old married woman from Kongpal Sajor Leikai under Porompat PS died under mysterious circumstances on Monday evening.

Meanwhile, the woman's family has alleged involvement of the husband and his family in her death.

The deceased woman has been identified as Soiraisam ongbi Dhaneshwori (37) w/o SInaoton.

The couple has three daughters.

According to report, Dhaneshwori and Inaoton had a fight on Monday evening.

Around 6 pm, she was rushed to JNIMS hospital after she allegedly consumed poison.

She died shortly after.

On hearing news of her death, Dhaneshwori's family thronged her husband's house.

According to her family, the couple often quarrelled as Inaoton is having an extra-marital affair.

As such, Dhaneshwori must have been killed by her husband, the family alleged.

After receiving news of the mob, a team of Porompat PS rushed to the scene and took the crowd under control.

A case has been registered in connection with the death and the dead body is being kept at JNIMS morgue after conduct of post mortem examination.

Meanwhile, Inaoton has been arrested by Porompat PS, the report conveyed.
