Poultry chicks distributed to 125 beneficiaries

The Veterinary Department of the Autonomous District Council, Ukhrul has distributed poultry chicks to 125 beneficiaries from across the 24 District Council Constituencies (DCCs).
ADC Ukhrul caretaker chairman Dr Yaronsho Ngalung handed over the chicks to all the beneficiaries during a simple distribution ceremony held at his official quarters in Phungreitang on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ngalung informed that the poultry products were provided by the Ministry Veterinary Department under power devolution of the six ADCs of Manipur.
"We thank the Minister of Veterinary Department for the provision," he acknowledged, while urging the department to also provide other animal husbandry products like pig, goat, calf and others in the coming years.
He said that such products are also supposed to be provided to the beneficiaries, apart from chicks.
"This is our earnest request and we are positively looking forward to getting such provision in the coming financial year for the tribal beneficiaries under the six ADC's," he said.
The distribution ceremony was attended by Veterinary doctor Hemba Singh and other staffers the department.
