MTU appeals to call off stir

Reacting to shutdown of fuel retail outlets by the proprietors, Meetei (Meitei) Tribe Union (MTU) has appealed for reopening of the fuel stations in view of the unrest situation in the state.
In a release, MTU secretary (administration) Mutum Churamani, while pointingout that transportation of essential services is dependent retail outlets for fuel, also called upon armed groups and CSOs to keep in mind the distressful situation gripping the state while making any demand.
Further statingthat the unrest situation is seriously affecting economy of the people, he also acknowledged that oil pumps and business enterprises set up through loan procurement are facing huge losses including their principal amount.
Moreover, various taxes levied by the government as well as unauthorised taxes collected by armed outfits, are adding to woes of the pump operators, the secretary said, and suggested that the parties concerned should come to an understanding and support each other.
He also urged the government to waive off the loan taken by entrepreneurs who are reeling under economic crisis.
