Man accused of issuing fake 'Jamabandi' jailed

Imphal, June 15 2022: SDC Lilong supervisor kanungo (SK) Md Shah Daud Khan, who is accused of issuing fake Jamabandi, has been remanded to judicial custody for 15 days by CJM Imphal West court on Wednesday.

A team of Lamphel PS produced Md Shah Daud Khan before the CJM and prayed for judicial custody.

According to IO report, the accused Shah Daud Khan tried to alter land records and issue Jamabandi in the name of Ashem Brajamani without the approval of Directorate of Settlement and Land Records.

The accused not only changed name but also increased the size of the land.

Moreover, Thoubal and Lilong PS had taken up two different FIRs against the accused Shah Daud Khan for involvement in different crimes.

As he is a habitual offender, the IO prayed to the court for judicial remand to facilitate further investigation of the case.

After hearing the report of the IO, the court remanded Md Shah Daud Khan to judicial custody for 15 days till June 29 .
