Engagement order handed over to 27 JTA

Imphal, September 14 2022:
After conducting a conciliation session under Industrial Dispute Act, 1947 by deputy labour commissioner/conciliation officer Peter Salam, the engagement order of 27 junior technical assistants (JTA) of Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL) were handed over to them at Deputy Labour Commissioner office located at Lamphelpat, here, on Wednesday.
In a release, All Manipur Trade Union Council AMTUC) general secretary A Premkumar informed that the engagement orders were distributed following an order issued by MSPDCL in connection with signing of Memorandum of Settlement between Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited Engaged Employees' Union (MSPDLCEEU) represented by AMTUC and representatives of MSPDCL on June 13.The engagement orders given through conciliation officer were handed over to MSPDCLEEU members.
The handing over ceremony was attended by MSPDCLEEU president Chanam Gyanen, vice president Ningombam Opendro, treasurer Md Zakir Hussain and members of the union.
Speaking at the event, AMTUC president T Tikendrajit expressed that works and actions will show who work for the welfare of the workers.
Merely paying floral tributes to leaders and claiming their strength only made the workers furious, he maintained.
He further said that deputy labour commissioner Peter Salam who achieved good governance award in the recent Independence Day celebration is a person who thinks for the welfare of the workers.
Moreover, the historic gift to the workers is the fruit of careful conciliation proceeding done by labour inspector H Biren Singh, he added.
