Jiribam IDPs demand shifting to safer location

Jiribam, November 13 2024: The internally displaced persons from Barak circle, currently taking refuge at the Borobekra police station, have appealed to authorities concerned to shift them to a safer location within 48 hours.

The villagers cautioned that the state government would be held responsible in case of any untoward incidents, should their request go unheeded, while also appealing to the chief minister to ensure they live a secure life.

In a video released by the IDPs of Barak Circle residing at the Borobekra police station, the villagers expressed concerns and urgent plea.

Stating that they had been settling in Borobekra sub-division for the past 20 years, and contributing their mite in Upholding Manipur's territorial integrity, the displaced persons said the appeal for relocating them to a safer place is due to serious risk factor.
