Skill training held at Kakching relief camp

Kakching, October 11 2023:
One-day skill training programme on candle making organised by District Skill Committee, Kakching in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Thoubal was held on Wednesday at Khomdonbi Memorial High School relief camp.
The training programme was conducted under the project "Leibaklei" which aims to provide livelihood opportunities to the internally displaced people (IDPs) of the on-going conflict.
A total of 37 inmates who participated in the training programme conveyed gratitude to District Skill Committee, Kakching and KVK, Thoubal for organising such training programme.
Okram Purnima, a 35 old mother of three from Serou but currently taking refuge in the Khomdonbi Memorial School relief camp since the past four months said that she was very much interested in candle making as the festival of light "Diwali" is approaching and they would be able to sell the products.
She expressed grateful that the skill which the inmates acquired from the training programme would help sustain their livelihood in the future as well.
She also urged the people of Manipur to buy the products manufactured by inmates residing in various relief camps across Manipur.
Coordinator of the programme, MGNF-Kakching Irom Abesana Devi and trainer SMS Home Science RK Lembisana also expressed satisfaction over successful conduct of the training programme.
