DMU protest on, four hospitalised

Imphal, July 11 2024:
As the hunger strike protest staged by students of Dhanamanjuri University (DMU) completed the third day Thursday, around four students were taken to JNIMS hospital after their health condition deteriorated.
Altogether, 15 students including three females had launched hunger strike protest in front of the A-Block of the university since July 9 demanding appointment of a regular VC for the university along with registrar, and non-teaching staff.
On Wednesday, the health of two female and two male students worsened following which they were taken to JNIMS hospital for medical treatment.
Meanwhile, DMU Students' Union Social & Culture secretary Kiran Huidrom declared that the protests will continue until the demands of the students are fulfilled.
The secretary urged authority concerned not to allow the university to exist for name sake and affect the career of the students.
