Ukhrul, February 11 2024:
A devastating fire that broke out on Sunday around 3 pm at Pushing village in Kamjong district, completely destroyed a four-room house and belongings worth around Rs 50 lakh.
According to family sources, the house belonged to KT Tungmaso and the cause of the fire is still unknown as the entire family had left home to seek treatment for Tungmaso's son, KT Chingrimung, who is currently undergoing kidney dialysis in Ukhrul town.
The source revealed that there was none inside the house when the fire broke out.
However, electricity was not suspected to be the cause of the fire, as the current had been cut off in the village since 2 pm on Sunday, one hour before the fire incident.

The fire also destroyed 300 cubic planks, which were stored in the house.
The estimated loss is believed to be Rs 50 lakh, though the exact value could not be known immediately, it said.
